Our aim is to create stylish, contemporary pieces of quality handcrafted art inspired by children. Having been enamelling for over 30 years, Vicky has turned her dream into a reality with My Little Keepsake’s stunning range of stylish, contemporary enamel keepsakes.
Welcome to My Little Keepsake. I’m Vicky – the creator and developer and I’ve been making memories in enamel since I was 10 years old!
One of the beautiful things about enamel is that it never fades, peels off or discolours – so it’s perfect for creating lasting masterpieces.
I grew up in London (UK) and was lucky to have a very creative family. In the early 1980s, my mum went to evening classes to learn the art of enamelling.
It became a life long passion for mum and I was lucky enough to be swept along with her on the enamelling journey.
It was always a fantastic hobby and together we made beautiful jewellery out of copper, silver and enamel.
In 1996 I graduated from Wimbledon College of Art with a First Class Honours degree in Theatre Design – Technical arts and Special Effects.
I enjoyed 15 years of working in the TV, Theatre & Film Industry, making puppets and props for shows like Harry Potter, The Matrix, The Teletubbies, The Wombles and The Lion King.
When I became a mum of 3 beautiful children and moved to Australia, it became impossible to continue working in the Film Industry, so after dabbling in teaching for a while I decided to start my own business.
I had been enamelling now for 20 years and had developed from creating jewellery, to working on larger pieces of artwork in copper and steel.
Soon after my youngest child was born I had a dream! Literally, I did! I had a dream that I’d created her handprint in enamel. I woke up and thought this was a great idea!
So I spent the next 12 months working out how.
My Little Keepsake began in London in 2009 as Flamecat Enamels. In 2011 we moved to Australia and I started developing my products, selling at markets and Expos Australia wide.
My Husband creates all of the frames for me and I do all of the design and enamelling. Our aim is to create stylish, contemporary pieces of quality handcrafted art inspired by children.
What I produce is colourful, unique, and very different from other keepsake products on the market.
Excellent customer service is really important to me as I’m handling some of your most precious memories. All of the enamelling and framing is done personally by me. Each keepsake is bespoke and unique. I take time to liaise with every customer by email or over the phone, to make sure they’re getting the keepsake exactly how they want it.
Our range has now expanded to include block mounted prints, glass jewellery and keyrings as well as keepsakes you can print and frame yourselves.
Having three children ourselves, we understand how special those first memories are. By preserving them in enamel they look beautiful and will never fade or discolour over time.
